What should patients bring to the hospital?

  • Clothing-Patients should wear comfortable, casual clothes while at Covenant Health. We suggest you bring a few changes of machine-washable day and night wear, including underwear, socks, shoes, bathrobe and slippers.
  • Medications-It is a good idea for you to bring your medications with you to the hospital. The nursing staff can then see exactly what type of medications and what dosages you require. If you need to stay a few days in the hospital, we will probably make a list of the medications you take and then send your own medications home with a family member. Our pharmacy will dispense the medications you need according to your physician’s orders.
  • Personal Belongings-Covenant Health is not responsible for personal items, including eyeglasses and dentures. Patients are advised to leave valuables, including jewelry, at home and not to carry a significant amount of cash.
  • Personal Care Items-Patients should bring the following items, if appropriate: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, soap container, hair dryer, electric shaver, hairbrush, comb, eyeglasses, contact-lens care materials and deodorant. Please bring any durable medical equipment you will need, such as a cane, wheelchair, C-Pap machine, visual aids, hearing aids and if need be, batteries.
