Covenant Foundation Levelland to Host Kentucky Derby-Themed Gala

– Enjoy “A Night at the Kentucky Derby” right here on the South Plains by attending the 11
th Annual Covenant Foundation Levelland gala. The Kentucky Derby-themed gala is set for Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 – 11 p.m. at in Levelland.
Money raised from the event will be used to purchase new medical equipment, renovate patient hospital rooms and fund nursing scholarships.
The dinner will feature a menu of traditional southern dishes often served during Kentucky Derby events. Guests can dance the night away with Duck Soup, the evening’s entertainment and the “Unofficial Band of the PGA Tour,” performing at 10 PGA tournaments yearly. In true tradition, ladies in attendance can participate in “The Elegant Ladies Hat Contest.” Ladies who enter will be asked to model their best Kentucky Derby hat in front of three celebrity judges for a chance to win a $150 gift certificate. The evening will also include a horseshoe pitching contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners.
Thanks to money raised from past galas, Covenant Foundation Levelland has been able to purchase 73 pieces of new equipment for Covenant Hospital Levelland since 2000. In 2011, the foundation used their funds to purchase a Surgical C Arm, two colonoscopy scopes as well as award nursing scholarships for a total of $186,850.
