Covenant Health System Offers New Support Group for Caregivers of Cancer Patients

Covenant Health and the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center (JACC) are proud to offer a new support group for the caregivers and family of cancer patients.  The Oncology Caregivers Support Hour was created to offer support and advice to caregivers of cancer patients. The group focuses on sharing ways to cope with the task of caring for your family and loved ones as well as sharing experiences with others who are involved in similar circumstances.

The next Oncology Caregivers Support Hour meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the JACC 5th Floor North Family Room.

JACC also offers a Cancer Survivor’s Support Group. The group meets the third Thursday of every month from 7 – 8 p.m. The goal of this group is to provide emotional support for cancer survivors, provide information on community events and activities, share personal experiences and recognize successes large and small in a safe and positive atmosphere.  It is their mission to promote spiritual healing and quality of life for all members.

The group meets in a casual setting and persons with any type of cancer diagnosis, spouses, family members, caregivers and friends are welcome. The next Cancer Survivor’s Support Group meeting is Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. in the JACC Chapel located at 4101 22nd Place.

For more information on the support groups offered, please contact Joe Velasquez at 806.725.8002.
