Covenant Health System Recognizes 2011 Physician Values in Action Award Recipients

(LUBBOCK) – Covenant Health will recognize five Covenant physicians for exhibiting dignity, service, excellence and justice in their profession at the Values in Action award dinner on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Lubbock Country Club.

Values in Action is the most prestigious recognition program Covenant awards their physicians and is based on the health care system’s core values of dignity, service, excellence and justice.  Recipients are selected through nominations from their peers, patients and staff.

DignityDr. Charles D. Barton, Emergency Medicine

ServiceDr. Robert L. Ordonez, Family Medicine

ExcellenceDr. John Zias, Cardiology

JusticeDr. Damon H. Hill, Family Medicine

The Robert J. Salem, M.D., Distinguished Award, which is given to a physician who exemplifies the consummate physician, will be the final award presented for the evening. This year’s recipient, Dr. Ted W. Allen, a general surgeon, will be honored for his clinical excellence, collegiality, compassion, integrity, vision and innovation.
