(LUBBOCK) – Covenant Health recently recognized several Covenant Health System nurses for exhibiting leadership, knowledge of skills and competency of the four Covenant values (dignity, service, excellence and justice) as well as excellence in customer service and patient care.
The Irene Wilson and Sister Maureen Van Der Zee Excellence in Nursing Awards are given to nurses with three years continuous full-time employment who demonstrate knowledge and competency in performing nursing skills. The nurses who receive these awards also act as role models for other nurses, continue to seek professional growth and display excellence and professionalism in the performance of their duties.

The Tender Touch Awards are given to three bedside caregivers who excel in customer service and patient care by demonstrating care and compassion. This award recognizes the “heart and soul” of nursing at Covenant.

Unit Nursing Excellence Awards were also given to 45 Covenant nurses who demonstrate leadership and engagement in their unit or department in quality and patient safety, customer service, shared governance, evidence-based practice and involvement in change.
