(LUBBOCK)– Covenant Medical Group is pleased to announce that two of their own have been named to U.S. News Top Doctors 2011. James Harrell, III, M.D. and K.J. Oommen, M.D., were selected for the Top Doctors list based on peer nominations.
Dr. Harrell is the chief pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon for Covenant Children’s Hospital. He specializes in the surgical care of complex congenital heart disease, with additional interests in noncardiac thoracic diseases, transplantation and cardiac assist (ECMO). Presently, he is a clinical associate professor of surgery and pediatrics at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine (TTUHSC).
Dr. Oommen is a neurologist and director of Covenant’s Epilepsy Unit specializing in epilepsy management. He has been active in clinical research for 25 years and involved in the development of 10 of the 11 new anti-epileptic drugs on the market today. At the TTUHSC School of Medicine Dr. Oommen is a distinguished professor of neurology.
