PRESS CONFERENCE RESCHEDULED: Covenant School of Nursing and Lubbock Christian University to Announce a Unique Partnership

PRESS CONFERENCE RESCHEDULEDWHO: Covenant School of Nursing (CSON) and Lubbock Christian University (LCU) will hold a press conference to announce the establishment of a unique partnership benefiting future nursing students.

WHAT: Due to a change in law, any diploma program of study that leads to initial R.N. licensure must entitle a student to receive a degree from an institution of higher education.  This change will take effect in Covenant’s School of Nursing admission process for the January 2012 start date.

In an effort to ease the transition for nursing students, CSON has partnered with LCU to help them achieve the new degree requirements.

Multiple representatives from CSON, Covenant Health (CHS) and LCU will be in attendance and available for media interviews including: Dr. Ken Jones, LCU chancellor; Richard Parks, CHS president and CEO; Cindy Ford, Ph.D., R.N., C.N.E., director of partnership program for LCU Department of Nursing; Alicia Anger, CSON dean; and Karen Baggerly, CHS chief nursing officer.

WHEN:    Monday, April 4 at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Cardwell Welcome Center               Lubbock Christian University               5601 19th Street
