Spirit Halloween Superstore Presents $13K to Covenant Children’s

Local retailer recognized for funds raised last fall.

Spirit Halloween Superstore presented a check for $13,500 to Covenant Children’s, for funds raised during the costume shop’s 2015 Spirit of Children campaign.

Spirit of Children is a national program that brings fun and funding to hospitals at Halloween and all year long. It focuses on hospitals that focus on kids to help make hospital stays less scary for children and their families.

The contribution benefits Covenant’s Child Life department. The money allows the department to purchase toys and other items that provide pain distraction and therapeutic play to young patients.

Also, last October, Spirit Halloween provided costumes for a special Halloween celebration at Covenant Children’s. The patients participated in various activities and games.

Since 2010, Lubbock’s Spirit of Halloween Superstore has donated $52,000 in cash and $30,000 in Halloween party items to Covenant Children’s, for a total so far of $82,000.

Nationwide, since 2007, The Spirit of Children has collected more than $29 million, and 2015 company-wide totals were more than $7 million.
