Areas of Need

Area of greatest need

Restricted giving is one of the most effective ways to make an impact on Covenant Health. By designating your gift to “where the need is greatest,” you provide Covenant with the flexibility to stay at the forefront of new technology and treatment, as well as address challenges and opportunities as the needs of the community grow.

Keeping the Covenant capital campaign

Covenant Health Foundation is raising funds for a $450 million capital improvements project, Keeping the Covenant – Faith and Healing for the Next 100 Years. This campaign is the most significant financial investment since the merger in 1998 of Methodist and St. Mary of the Plains Hospitals.

If you had a good patient experience at Covenant, have a passion for healthcare, or just love our community, consider a gift to Covenant Health. There are naming opportunities at Joe Arrington Cancer Center, Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Children’s that will enable you to bless our ministry while carrying on your legacy as we enter into our next century of service.

Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center (JACC)

JACC is the leading provider for comprehensive cancer treatment in the region. JACC opened its doors in 1995 to provide Christian-based cancer care for adults and children. Each year there are approximately 1,100 new cancer cases in Lubbock County alone. Many patients from the West Texas and eastern New Mexico areas choose to receive their cancer treatment close to home. In FY 2016, more than 20,000 patients were treated at JACC, with 40% coming from outside of Lubbock County.

Generous contributions from JACC patients, families, and friends allow us to provide care in a comfortable, patient-friendly environment. Without the thoughtful kindness of our JACC supporters, continuous technology enhancements would not be available to our patients as they fight devastating diseases.

Covenant Children’s

Covenant Children's is the region's only free-standing licensed children's hospital and one of only eight in the entire state of Texas. We believe providing our community with the best possible pediatric care is an extension of our sacred mission of healing. And to ensure families can always get the help they need close to home, we've assembled the largest staff of pediatric specialists in the region and offer a comprehensive scope of services, ranging from emergency care to oncology, neurology to gastroenterology.

Covenant Children’s is home to unique donor-funded play rooms that offer various methods of play therapy including Storytellers Recording Studio, Timmy’s Playroom, Lindsey’s Park, Racer Classic Carwash Performance Arts Theater, and Teen Town.

Hospice of Lubbock

Hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care for the terminally ill that allows patients to die in peace and comfort at home with loved ones close by. The region’s only nonprofit hospice serving Lubbock and 17 surrounding counties, Hospice of Lubbock provides a wide range of services to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their families. In addition, it is the only facility in the region to offer pediatric hospice services.

Covenant Heart and Vascular Institute

For more than 35 years, the Heart and Vascular Institute has been the region’s most advanced and comprehensive provider for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The Heart and Vascular Institute at Covenant provides services inclusive of routine diagnostic testing through complex interventional and surgical procedures. The Institute provides cardiovascular specialists with advanced, state-of-the-art technology to perform clinical procedures in the most effective and safe method possible.

Covenant Cares

Covenant Cares is an employee giving program that is employee-funded, employee administered, and employee-distributed. The employee campaign provides funding for equipment and programs throughout our health system based on requests submitted by employees.

Covenant Health Plainview Foundation

Covenant Health Plainview is dedicated to providing our community with world class health care, close to home. The 100-bed facility is home to more than 300 medical professionals whose mission is to give our patients the best possible care at each and every visit. Covenant Plainview is in the process of a $40 million renovation project which will include new surgical suites, a new lobby and major renovations on all floors.

Covenant Health Levelland Foundation

Covenant Health Levelland includes a 48 bed acute care hospital, four rural health clinics and an outpatient rehabilitation facility. Covenant Health Levelland has nine full-time physicians with specialties such as internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and family practice.

Please consider a donation that will leave a legacy of faith for many generations to come. If you would like more information about any of these areas of need, contact the Foundation at (806) 725-6089.
