Requirements
After completion of high school or obtaining a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, nine specific prerequisite college courses must be completed from an accredited college or university before beginning training at Covenant School of Nursing. These prerequisite courses include:
- English (2 freshman English courses or 1 freshman English course plus either 1 speech communications course or 1 beginning Spanish course)
- Chemistry with lab
- Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab (2 semesters)*
- Microbiology with lab
- Introduction to Psychology
- Human Growth and Development (Lifespan)
- Nutrition
- Math (if entrance testing indicates need)
*Select courses must be completed within five years of enrolling at Covenant School of Nursing.
Please review the last page of our application packet for a detailed list of acceptable transfer credits from area college/universities. A grade of ”C” or above is required in each course, and a grade point average of 2.5 or higher is required. For questions concerning specific courses to enroll in at a chosen institution, contact the Nursing Careers Counselor.
