Physician BioDr. Jane F. Goldthorn has served as Covenant’s medical director of Pediatric Trauma since 2002, a member of the Children’s Executive Committee since 1997, and the Children’s Hospital Quality Review Council Sub-Committee since 2004. She was the surgical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University Medical Center from 1983-2002 and became the director of the Division of Pediatric Surgery and associate professor of Surgery & Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1983.
Widely published and passionate about the well-being of children, Dr. Goldthorn is a former clinical instructor in Surgery at the University of Southern California and associate director of Pediatric Surgery at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics from McGill University Montreal General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and General Surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Md. Dr. Goldthorn has served on the medical staff at University of New Mexico Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.
Dr. Goldthorn is a member of the Lubbock Surgical Society, American College of Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, Lubbock-Crosby-Garza County Medical Society, Lubbock Pediatric Society, Texas Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Association for Academic Surgery, and American Federation of Clinical Research.
