Covenant Center for Sports Medicine

Purpose/Mission Statement

The purpose of the Covenant Sports Medicine program is to partner with communities to provide athletic training healthcare services to communities that are unable to afford the services themselves. These services may include treatment of athletic injuries, providing physician referral and educating the athlete as well as the parents and coaches on injury prevention, strength training and condition. The target population of Covenant Sports Medicine is the adolescent in grades 7-12 participating in the school's athletic programs.

Saturday Morning Injury Clinic

During the fall, the sports medicine program provides a Saturday Morning Injury Clinic for evaluation of Thursday and Friday night football injuries. The clinic is conducted at Covenant Health Plus, which is located at 7601 Quaker Avenue. The sports medicine personnel and orthopedic surgeons staff the clinic. It provides an avenue for athletes to see the proper specialist for their type of injury, as most athletic injuries are orthopedic in nature.
