Review the Covenant School of Surgical Technology requirements below and decide if a new career as a surgical technologist is right for you. Applications  are due by April 9, 2010.

Application Requirements:

• Applications for the class beginning in June 7, 2010 will be accepted beginning November 2, 2009. Completed applications must be submitted by April 9, 2010  - ALL requirements must be met by this date including background check and interview.
• High school degree with GPA of 2.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or a GED score of 450 or above
• Proof of current certification in American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider (certification must not expire during the school year) 
• Three (3) written personal references to be mailed in separate from the application
• Official copies of high school and/or college transcripts
• Must have an overall average of 75 or above on a basic language and math skills exam offered through Work Source. Contact Myra McNeil at WorkSource, 806.771.3815 ext 2131 for information
• $100 non-refundable application processing fee to be applied to a background check. Send check with the application. 

Pre-Requisites:

• Medical Terminology [required]
• Biology 0300 Student Success in Biology – offered at South Plains College. (Anatomy and Physiology is acceptable as a substitute) [Recommended, but not required]
• Courses must be completed prior to submitting application, or proof of enrollment prior to start date.
• Official transcripts must be provided to the school with the application or upon completion of the requirements.
• Courses must be completed within 10 years of the program start date.
