Review the Covenant School of Surgical Technology requirements below and decide if a new career as a surgical technologist is right for you. Applications are due by April 9, 2010.
Application Requirements:
- Applications for the class beginning in June 7, 2010 will be accepted beginning November 2, 2009. Completed applications must be submitted by April 9, 2010 - ALL requirements must be met by this date including background check and interview.
- High school degree with GPA of 2.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or a GED score of 450 or above
- Proof of current certification in American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider (certification must not expire during the school year)
- Three (3) written personal references to be mailed in separate from the application
- Official copies of high school and/or college transcripts
- Must have an overall average of 75 or above on a basic language and math skills exam offered through Work Source. Contact Myra McNeil at WorkSource, 806.771.3815 ext 2131 for information
- $100 non-refundable application processing fee to be applied to a background check. Send check with the application.

Medical Terminology [required]

Biology 0300 Student Success in Biology – offered at South Plains College. (Anatomy and Physiology is acceptable as a substitute) [Recommended, but not required]

Courses must be completed prior to submitting application, or proof of enrollment prior to start date.

Official transcripts must be provided to the school with the application or upon completion of the requirements.

Courses must be completed within 10 years of the program start date.
