Covenant Children’s Hospital Receives 2008 PRC Medical Staff Perception Awards

LUBBOCK - Covenant Children’s Hospital received Professional Research Consultants 2008 Medical Staff Perception Awards. The awards, which are given based on local physicians' ratings of Covenant, represent excellence in certain areas.

Covenant Children’s Hospital was recognized as a five-star award winner for emergency services, a four-star award winner for nursing care and a four-star award winner for overall quality of care.

A five-star award is a designation given annually to health care facilities that score in the top ten percent of PRC’s national medical staff perception database for the prior year. It is based on the percentage of physicians who rate the facility as "excellent." Four-star awards are given annually to healthcare facilities that score between the 75th and 89.9th percentile of PRC’s national medical staff perception database for the prior year. Like five-star awards, it is based on the percentage of physicians who rate the facility as "excellent."
