Dedication Ceremony for Covenant Medical Center Family Sleep Rooms

June 21, 2010

Covenant Health System hosted a dedication ceremony and open house for the Covenant Medical Center (CMC) Family Sleep Rooms Monday morning.

The CMC Family Sleep Rooms offer overnight accommodations for out-of-town families who may have limited resources or may be experiencing a time of crisis with a loved one who is being treated at Covenant.

Covenant is the first hospital in the region to offer this service to patients’ families.  The CMC Family Sleep Rooms are evidence of Covenant’s commitment to the health system’s values of dignity, excellence, service and justice and to patient/family-centered care.

The rooms are available for immediate family members of any hospitalized patient at CMC, Covenant Women’s and Children’s or Covenant Specialty Hospital.

Currently, there are four family sleep rooms: Dignity, Excellence, Service and Justice Rooms.  The rooms are available for single night stays on a first-come, first-served basis.

The CMC Family Sleep Rooms are a 2009-2010 Mission and Mentoring project.  The purpose of Mission and Mentoring is to develop and form leaders to carry on the Catholic and Methodist Church’s healing ministry.
