Department of Spiritual Care
The Department of Spiritual Care at Covenant Health System is committed to making every hospital stay as comfortable as possible for patients and their loved ones. Chaplains are available 24 hours a day to provide spiritual care, sensitive listening and compassionate understanding. They also are available for consultation on Advanced Directives and end-of-life decisions.
Other departmental functions include:
- Support groups
- Monthly memorial service
- Channel 2, The Healing Channel, broadcast to patient rooms and the waiting rooms
- Worship
- Roman Catholic Mass
- Special services
- Sacrament of the Sick
- Spiritual care volunteer program
Clinical Pastoral Education
This program gives students an opportunity to work as part of the health care team in offering holistic care. Students are assigned to regular ministry areas and participate in the hospital’s on-call rotation, giving them valuable experience in crisis ministry.
