Overlie, MD, FACC, FACP, FSCAI is a practicing cardiologist. He attended Colorado State University receiving a BS in 1966 and an M.Ed. in 1967. He graduated from the University School of Medicine in 1973. He completed his Internship, Medical Residency, and his Cardiology Fellowship all from the University of Colorado Medical Center. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty Cardiovascular Diseases. Dr. Overlie is currently a member of the active staff at Covenant Health and is a part of the Covenant Cardiology Associates care team. He has held the position of Instructor of Medicine, Assistant Professor of Medicine-Division of Cardiology, Director of the Coronary Care Unit, and Human Performance Laboratory Researcher all at the University of Colorado. In San Diego, he was the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Care Unit Committee, Critical Care Cardiology, and Associate Director of the San Diego Cardiac Center. His practice includes the care of heart failure patients, acute myocardial infarction patients, general cardiology practice, and education. His specific interests include acute myocardial infarction interventions, cardiac hemodynamic support, shock, resuscitation technologies, transplant cardiology, regeneration therapies.
