Covenant Health’s palliative care program focuses on relieving pain, suffering and symptoms when a cure is not possible. However, unlike hospice care, palliative care does not require patients to give up curative or life-prolonging treatments.
To relieve suffering, our palliative care specialists assist with symptom management for pain, anxiety, weakness and other discomforts. They are also skilled in helping patients and families deal with the side effects of other therapies.
Our palliative care program uses an interdisciplinary approach that includes medical and nurse practitioners, social workers, clergy, pharmacists and physical and occupational therapists.
