Athletic Training
Covenant Health Sports Medicine partner’s with communities around
the south plains to provide athletic training healthcare services to area
high schools and programs. Our athletic trainers have specialized training
and expertise to cover emergency care situations and also to help with
the prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
School Athletics
We currently provide more than 14 area High Schools with athletic trainer
coverage. Services to these schools include:
- Game day coverage during sporting events
- Practice coverage
- Immediate treatment during on-field injuries
- Following up with parents of injured athletes
- Assisting parents/coaches with athletic related insurance issues

Schools with Athletic Trainers
Our program maintains a relationship with area schools that employ full-time
athletic trainers. We are always available to help these trainers facilitate
physician appointments, provide access to rehabilitation facilities or
be a source of information. These area schools include Lubbock ISD, Frenship,
Lubbock Cooper, Levelland, Brownfield and Plainview. We also maintain
a relationship with Lubbock Christian University, Wayland Baptist University
and South Plains College.
Special Events
Our athletic trainers and physicians provide sports medicine coverage of
numerous special events throughout the region. We can provide the experience
and training needed to treat injuries and emergency situations throughout
these events.
